What is a GuildFriend tm?
Since Cataclysm got introduced, Blizzard also introduced the Guild Advancement System, and making 10-man raids and 25-man raids drop the same ilvl loot. While this was great for small 10-man guilds it also made it much harder for small guilds to recruit new members.
After all, with the guild perks you can earn as your guild levels up, and you build up guild reputation, many players prefer to stay with their guilds (as Blizzard intended).
While it is a viable option to pug raids with other people from small guilds, it is a more preferable choice to do raids with your guild.
But what if your guild is too small and can't find the numbers to have their own guild run? That's where GuildFriends comes into play.
We thought it would be a great idea to ally ourselves with a pool of raiders/players to join our raids on a regular basis. It would almost be as if those players are guild members!
So, basically, a GuildFriend is what we would almost consider an outside Guildmember.
The benefits of being a GuildFriend tm
The benefits for the player: -Get to raid or do other activities on a regular basis as part of a guildrun -No need to pug -Raid with the same people -No need to leave your current family & friends guild and loose all your hardworked for guild perks and rep -A coordinated raid with use of ventrilo and a friendly atmosphere, contrary to most "hostile" pug-raids
The benefits for Flames of the Phoenix: -Have a steady pool of trusted and known outside raiders to fill guildrun raids -Easier time of filling raids and get them going -No need to pug unknown players -Lower risk -Possibility of GuildFriends becoming GuildMembers in the long run -Higher overall activity on raids and other events

Rules & Guidelines for GuildFriends tm
1) Must be 16 or over (instead of 18 and over for GuildMembers) 2) Must fit in with our social attitude. No rudeness, being disrespectful or spitefull 3) Must have ventrilo installed 4) Must sign up to be considered (GuildFriends will get seperate invites on the calender 5) Must have miminum ilvl of 355 (for FireLands. For BoT/BwD/TotFW/BH a lower ilvl is accepted) 6) Same lootrules as for members 7) Fail to show for a signed raid 1x without prior notice = warning, fail to sign up 2x for a signed raid without prior notice = booted from our GuildFriends roster. Prior notice means at least an hour in advance.
Signing for a raid is NOT a guarantee for a raidspot!
The Raidleader or an officer will try and give notice at least 30 mins before the start of a raid if you will have a raidspot.
Having a raidspot on the start of the raid (wednesday-night), does not necessarily mean you will also have a spot for the continuation raid (monday-night).
Please understand that GuildMembers will have priority on raidspots before GuildFriends. But if you have been told by an officer you WILL have a spot that night, you will not be booted if a Guildmember then suddenly comes online.
We will try to maintain a maximum of 2 GuildFriends per raid (for guild achievement purposes).
